ABC has announced the renewal of Grey's Anatomy for Season 19. As with Season 18, ABC did not announce that this would be the final season, or Ellen Pompeo's last season. Krista Vernoff continues to serve as showrunner. Ellen Pompeo has signed a new one-year contract and will be upgraded from co-executive producer to executive producer in the new season. In addition, the remaining original cast members Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. are reportedly signed multi-year contracts, which include Season 19.
