The story of the film is based on the Sucun blocking battle. In January 1941, the 3rd Special Forces Battalion of the 3rd Teaching Brigade of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army received an order to block the Japanese elite troops that were several times larger than themselves in Sucun in order to cover the safe transfer of the Luxi Military Region Administration. In the end, 126 soldiers, including the battalion commander Zhong Mingxin, died heroically, winning precious time for the safe transfer of the military region organs and the masses, leaving a strong mark in the history of the Luxi Anti-Japanese War.
