The film is adapted from Kevin Wilson's best-selling novel of the same name. It tells the story of a pair of children who were dragged by their performance artist parents to perform since childhood. When they grow up, they return to their hometown to help their parents complete their last performance. Bateman's directorial debut [expletive] attracted much attention at this year's Toronto Film Festival, which sold for a high price of $6 million. This film is his second directorial work.
